“Ohh…..the people like when I arrest, and kill these men.” “Arrest Peter at once!!” These are the words of King Herod in Acts 12:1-5 The bible says in these verses that this man liked to mistreat the people of the church. He did it for fun. This man was an attention magnet. Sounds to me like he was a people pleaser, and because of that he ended up imprisoning Peter……..to bad for him the church was PRAYING!
Love It!!! It’s amazing what our prayers can do for somebody else if we just continue praying. The bible says to pray continually. What happens in the following verses is incredible!!! King Herod ends up putting Peter in a cell with sixteen soldiers guarding the door, and puts peter in chains inside the cell. Get a mental picture please…..in the natural it looks impossible to get Peter out of there. But God! Praise Him!!
You see it doesn’t matter what the enemy reminds you of…..your past, your current circumstance, your family, ect. Jesus already made a way! In verse 7 it says”Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared in the cell, and a light shined in the cell.” Can I tell you that it doesn’t matter what is holding you back Jesus is the light!! He will show up wherever you are, in whatever shackles you might be in………it doesn’t matter if you feel surrounded with sixteen soldiers/he has already planned a way out for you. The angel then tells Peter HURRY! Get up it’s time to get out of here!!! God wants us to move with him if he says Now it means now! Believe Now for your miracle!!!! Imagine if Peter complained, and said wait God have you seen the shackles, and the bars, and most importantly the people protecting this cell. Peter never questioned the Angel he just obeyed, and moved with him.
You can’t live worried about the opinions of others, or what your circumstances look like. Live according to the things we can’t see. We serve a supernatural God!! He does things that will leave us with our mouths open, and thinking How! Don’t worry about How he will do it. Instead just thank him because you know he will do it…….As the verses go on the Angel then tells Peter to get dressed! We need to be dressed with the armour of God when we are marching out of the enemy’s territory! When we are walking out he can’t even see us if we are under the shadow of the most high. If we are clothed in the readiness of the gospel……the power of God! Keep yourselves clothed at all times. Your deliverance is here now! Be Set free in the name of Jesus Christ! Maybe you’ve been struggling with depression, anxiety, fear, worried about the opinions of others today I declare that nothing is going to hold you back! You have been set free! These words are the light shining into those areas of bondage in your life, and the chains are being broken right Now! Hurry and claim your freedom!!! Tell Jesus thank you! He already made a way.
Today I want to encourage you not to look at your circumstance, or pay attention to the negative voices around you. Believe in our God, and know that he has made a way. He has already given us Freedom on the Cross.. Receive it! Also…….don’t stop praying for your brother and sister in Christ. The bible says that once Peter was free……he went to the house where they were praying for him. He didn’t only knock once but twice before they could believe that God had already answered their prayer! Gloria Dios!!! God wants to freak you out, and show you that what you pray for he has answered! When you least expect it your answer will be knocking on your door! Until next time God Bless!
