My life in Your hands

Marol Vallejo- Coffee & Manna devotions...

Have you ever looked at something, and thought I really need to ________?  Then two seconds later you think I can do it later.  Before you know it the task of doing something, or changing something never happens.  Exercise is a big one for me!! lol My routine will always start on Monday :) Then Monday comes around, and nothing. When my kids were off for summer I was like as soon as summer is over I will start my diet and exercise. What happens when we procrastinate? Things get out of control…….weight gain, garden turns into a jungle…….house turns into a mess………..paperwork turns into a mountain ect.  Sometimes we procrastinate on other things that cause confusion and disorder in our walks with Christ. That something is Prayer.

Prayer is vital in a relationship with Christ. It’s the gas that keeps the car going, and like water that keeps the plants growing.  The place where we can be open with the Father. Our prayer closet is where God can begin to change things in us. Yesterday I trimmed a tree outside of my house…..the tree was disgustingly tall, and out of shape. It was even in the way of my sidewalk that led to my front door.  As I was cutting the branches off I realized that God also wants to cut all the ugliness off of us. I realized that through prayer God will mold us, and form us. When we take the time to pause, and confront the things that are out of control in our lives….God can begin to work on our behalf.

Life can get out of control busy! It can turn into a clutter. God wants to organize the clutter. He wants to give us that spiritual haircut that will boost our self-esteem, and make us look amazing!  His word says in Isaiah 64:8

“But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

He is in control! Let him remove the things that hinder our walks with him. The things that we struggle with release them to him in prayer.  There is life changing power in prayer. Through prayer you spend time with the father. They are those moments in time where you can open up, and let him change you. You can be certain that he will hear you, and do something. He isn’t going to procrastinate. He will work immediately. My tree in front of my house looks 20 times better because I took time to shape it, and water it. God is the person who wants to take time with us, and mold us. Everyday he wants to take us from of place of chaos into a place of peace. Receive the peace of God today. Allow him to work in your life. I believe that he wants total surrender! He wants our whole hearts! God wants to SPEND time with you today! I want to encourage you today to keep on praying, and laying things down at his feet. The bible says “ May they put to death the works of the flesh by yielding to the Spirit.” (Rm 8:13).  Surrender to a powerful life changing God.    Until Next God Bless :)
