Wow!! Lions are huge!!! Mom!!! said my son on the his first visit to the zoo.  For some wierd reason even though there was a thick glass between us and the lion a bit of fear towards the lion was still there. Why? I knew that if nothing would be there between us he would attack us, and eat us. The lion is on top of the food chain. They are the kings of the jungle.

Thinking about this I thought about the verse that says “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. ” 1 Peter 5:8

I thought about the fact that he is there roaming around back and fourth roaring………speaking negative things into a place where they are so audible to you that you begin to listen and pay attention. He says things that remind you of your past, things like you aren’t healed, you aren’t forgiven, nobody loves you, you won’t ever change, God can’t ever use you! Those roars linger around in your heart waiting for the moment that you will give in to those lies, and surrender.  Why else would it say in 1 Peter 5:8 to be of sober mind? That is where the enemy wants to attack you….that is where he can destroy you.

Truth is he can’t hurt us because even though he might be on top of the food chain in the physical we have the one who created him living on the inside of us which means that we have the authority over him. Greater is he that lives in me than he who lives in the world!!! He prowls around like…..he wants to be like a lion but he isn’t! We have authority over him the name of Jesus Christ! We have to be willing to stand & not fear….we need to be like Daniel ready to go into the lions den knowing that you will walk out of there with victory because of the one that lives within you. Shut the mouth of the lion in Jesus name. When he walks towards you and roars dont fear…..roar back that he is for you and not against you….that by his stripes you are healed….that by his blood you are forgiven .

Today I encourage you to walk with your head held high….ready because when he roars the one within you roars back… Until next time God Bless.
