Should I? Shouldn't I?

Marol Vallejo- Coffee & manna devotions...

I love the smell of  something new. Don’t you? There is just something about it………..I don’t know what it is, but man it’s so attractive. New things are so desirable. You watch tv, and there go all those commercials with the new cars, phones, ipads, clothes, toys blah! blah! blah! Before you know it your clothes look like rags, and your car looks like something ancient. Why are we so obsessed with things. It’s crazy that we can pay top dollar for a car of the year, and the minute you drive it off the lot it’s not worth what you paid anymore. It’ll never be worth that price again!!

Nothing that we purchase will ever keep its original value. Yet we put so much into something that is depreciating by the minute. We know that trends change faster than leaves can fall of a tree, but there we go trying to keep up with all of them. Everything here on earth has a beginning and end. One minute things are hot, and the next they are not. One minute your car is worth $50,000 and after a few years it’ll only be worth $5,000. What am I trying to say? Put your effort & your money into something or someone who will never loose its value.  I’m so happy that the bible says that we serve a God who never changes. One who is the same yesterday today & forever. He is never out of style, and always knows exactly what will satisfy us. The bible says

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20

What does that mean? It means we should invest our energy into the things of God. We should do things for him with a feeling that knows we aren’t doing anything in vain. God sees everything, and he will reward you for the things you do. Next time you are cleaning the church remember he is seeing. When you are feeding the hungry he sees you. When you are telling your friend at work who is going through a divorce about one who will always be faithful he is watching you!! The things you do for his kingdom aren’t in vain. You are storing treasures in heaven. He is keeping track my friends.

Thank You Lord!!! He sees you……the way that sometimes you are so tired after a long day of work, but yet you still make the effort to go to church. He sees that you are faithful with your tithes and offerings regardless of the economy. He sees all things. He isn’t a Cheap God who grows weary…………He is a Mighty God Who created all things, and wants to reward you for the things you do. Work for his kingdom!! Keep sowing into your eternity. Remember that this world is our temporary home. One day we will be with our Saviour our true reward!   Until next time God Bless
